FAQ
Common questions about connecting, statistics and payouts.
What is merged mining?
Merged mining lets one piece of work count on several blockchains that use the same algorithm. Your Scrypt miner works on Litecoin, and the pool also submits that work to Dogecoin and other compatible chains. You earn the extra coins without using more power or changing anything on the miner.
Which coins can I mine?
LTC, DOGE, BELLS, LKY, PEP, JKC, DINGO, SHIC, CRC and TRMP. Not all of them are live during the beta. The coins page shows the current state of each one.
Do I need an account?
Not to start mining. Your miner can connect with just a Litecoin address in the worker name, as LTC_ADDRESS.worker, and Litecoin is paid to that address. To be paid the merged-mined coins you also need a free account, where you link that Litecoin address and set a payout address for each coin. Without an address on file, a coin is forfeited to the pool.
How do I receive Dogecoin and the other merged coins?
Log in, open Account settings and enter one payout address per coin. Each coin is paid in that coin to the address you set. You can change an address at any time; the change applies to blocks found from then on.
What happens if I have no payout address for a coin?
That coin is forfeited. If no payout address is set when your share of a block is credited, the share goes to the pool's unclaimed-coins wallet. It does not accrue and is not paid later. Adding an address afterwards only covers future blocks, so set all your addresses before you start mining.
Does the pool convert my coins into LTC or anything else?
No. There is no exchange and no auto-convert. You get your pro-rata PPLNS share of the blocks the pool actually found on each coin, paid in that coin.
I entered a wrong payout address. Can you get the coins back?
No. Blockchain payments cannot be reversed, and the addresses in your account are your responsibility. Check each one carefully and paste it rather than typing it.
How do I protect my account?
Use a long, unique password and turn on two-factor authentication in Account settings. Anyone who can log in to your account can change your payout addresses.
Which miners are supported?
Scrypt ASICs that speak standard stratum, including Antminer L7, L9 and L11 and Elphapex DG1. See getting started for example settings. [OWNER CONFIRM: any other tested models, and whether rented hashrate is allowed]
Which port should I use?
Use the low difficulty port for single machines and small setups, and the high difficulty port for high-hashrate machines and large fleets. The ports table is on the getting started page.
What do I enter as the worker name?
Either of these (beta defaults, may change):
LTC_ADDRESS.worker USERNAME.worker
LTC_ADDRESSis your Litecoin address.USERNAMEis your LuxxPool account username. The pool mines to the LTC address linked in your account settings, so link one first. A username with no linked address is refused, and a newly linked address can take up to a minute to be recognised.workeris a label for the machine: 1 to 32 letters, digits,-or_. Without one, the worker is calleddefault.
Both forms credit the same Litecoin address, and the miner lookup always works by that address. See getting started for examples.
What do I enter as the password?
Enter x. The pool ignores the stratum password and identifies you by the address or username in your worker name. This is not your account password; never put that in your miner.
Why does the pool show a different hashrate than my miner?
The pool cannot see your miner's hashrate directly. It estimates it from the shares you submit, and shares arrive with some randomness. Short-term figures move up and down; the 24 hour average is the one to compare with your miner's own reading.
My worker shows as offline. What should I check?
Check that the miner is powered and online, that the stratum URL and port are correct, and that the worker name starts with a valid Litecoin address, or with your username after you have linked an LTC address to your account. A worker is marked offline when it has not submitted a share for a while. [OWNER CONFIRM: offline timeout]
What do pending, confirmed and orphaned mean?
Pending blocks have been found and are waiting for enough confirmations. Confirmed blocks have matured and their rewards are credited. Orphaned blocks were not accepted by the network and pay nothing. See the blocks page.
What are unpaid, immature and paid balances?
Immature is your share of blocks that have not matured yet. Unpaid is matured balance waiting for the next payout. Paid is the total already sent to you.
When do I get paid?
When your unpaid balance for a coin reaches its payout threshold, it goes out in the next payout run. Details are on the fees and payouts page.
What does beta mean for me?
The pool is open but still being tuned. Expect occasional interruptions and changes. The full list is under beta limitations.
Does this website track me?
No. The site uses no analytics and loads nothing from third parties. The only cookie is the login session cookie, set when you log in to your account. Like any web server and stratum server, the pool sees the IP addresses that connect to it. [OWNER CONFIRM: server log retention]
